Atelier Dojo is the only traditional fine art school in Austin, Texas! We offer a variety of professional programming for the serious art student. Dojo Academy is for students of all skill levels seeking a rigorous daily curriculum (part-time or full-time) in representational drawing and painting. We also offer shorter-format evening and weekend classes, and workshops for artists of all skill levels looking to learn to paint or draw.
Open studios are drop-in for anyone who wants to join and draw or paint from a live model for three hours.
Summer Teen portfolio program
Top art and design programs look for students with exceptional observational skills — give yours the advantage. This summer, move beyond the classroom and train in a professional studio environment designed to accelerate your portfolio. In our focused two-week intensives, high school artists develop the foundational techniques of drawing and painting from life, receive expert instruction and personalized feedback, and produce polished pieces that grab the attention of admissions counselors. Dojo Academy
At our Academy, our master instructors offer professional training in drawing and painting based on 19th century French academic methods. Our goal is to drill technique expertise, develop students' artistic individuality and prepare them for a variety of creative fields including fine art, illustration, design, animation, and education.
Short-Term Classes
Separate from the Dojo Academy, we provide a curriculum dedicated to the classical skills that underlie realist drawing and painting! Our 6-week classes are led by nationally recognized artists in an intimate and welcoming environment.
Open Studios
Daily dedication to the craft, hones your skill and brings you to mastery. Open Studios give artists regular opportunities to work from a live model in a supportive environment. We are open to the public, all are welcome!
